Centipede V. Timepilot

Time Pilot might be more "rare" (as expected since it was never loved like Centipede was) but Centipede is a top 10 classic game of all time and probably in the top 5 most-wanted and most-remembered videogames. If you really like TP then make the trade, but most people wouldn't. I know I wouldn't.

Pede stays. The trackball was the deciding factor although, it is true that the ladies love centipede. If only that was true.

It is true. My wife loves Cenitpede and couldn't care less about the rest of my games. She has the top two high scores on the game, and I've been trying for almost two years to get the top spot with no luck. When she found out it was programmed by a woman, she liked it even more. :D

Time Pilot has the advantage of easy board swaps. You can drop in Gyruss, Frogger, Time Pilot '84, etc etc.

Time Pilot with full sideart? CHECK! I'm practically giving this one away:

Shameless plug for my post in the sale section.....

The learning curve is much lower for most trackball games. Women understand how to play them immediately. I figure this is why Ms Pac does well with the ladies as well, it is simple.

My wife can't stand Gyruss - too much going on. However, she will play Macross as long as it is on freeplay. The game is somewhat complicated but you can just continue and continue uninterrupted. The only pin I have that she, or other women, will continue to play is Twister - it has a timed ball save feature that helps poor players immensely. I have actually seen wome walk away from my Old Chicago pin mid game because it is too hard.

That makes sense. My Girlfriend loves ms pac(and she kicks my ass on it too!) I figured girls liked 'pede cuz there used to playing with things with balls! :D

You can put a frogger into a TP cabinet? What other etc's can go into it? is it plug and play?

TP on the multi boards suck. The sound is horrible. My kids won't even touch it.

Yes - its plug and play. Anything with the Konami classic pinout (and vertical monitor orientation) will work plug and play. Megazone and Juno First (if you can find one) are two others.

I have to agree the multi board has about 12-15 (out of 48 ) games that work really nice but TP isn't one of them :-( I have TP on my MAME set up and it sounds great, but there seems to be a wave /rip in the graphics every once and awhile. I was hoping the 48-1 version would work better, guess I'll have to keep my eye out for the real thing.

i play time pilot all the time. great game. i also play centipede all the time, but i like time pilot better. also, i have played time pilot on the 48 in 1 a few dozen times and thought it was fine, though the sound on the machines i played it on was turned down really low. game play seemed fine to me.

the play in the 48 or 60-in-1s is ok for Time Pilot even if the audio is quite off.

however, the game really should be played with the original Monroe joystick to be fully enjoyed.

I'm still kicking myself for passing on the Time Pilot with mint side art that went for $305 on eBay recently.

Don't worry, I got that one. :)
The sideart is very nice, but I wouldn't call it mint. It is completely full (no rips), but there are a few scratches. The CP cleaned up very nice (I have a NOS overlay ready, but I won't be using it), and the Monroe stick was excellent (again, no need to break out the NOS one I've been saving).
