Alright so I have the oppurtunity to trade my centipede for a timepilot. Ive never played timepilot before, but I am bored of centipede. What is the better machine from the collectors point of view? Centipede or Timepilot.

Both great games. I actually like Time Pilot slightly better... but Centipede is a great game as well.

Hard to say. I have both and both have great gameplay and are crowd pleasers to boot. IMHO, Centipede is more of a recognizable game to the masses.

If I had to choose, I would pick Centipede.

It depends if you have other people coming over to play your games or not. I love Time Pilot but you can play that on a MAME or Multi game set up and not lose anything. Centipede just doesn't feel right without a trackball. I personally believe every arcade should have at least one dedicated trackball game and the ladies love Centipede.

Chicks will want to play the Pede at your house. Time Pilot,,,not so much. Centipede has a way make that a WAY cooler cabinet too.

Time pilot is a rather unique and fun game. Centipede is defiantly a great classic. It's easier to find a Centipede for sure, even more so if you take in to account that you can slap a Multipede in to a Millipede and get the best of both worlds. If you go for the Time Pilot, unless your current Centipede is pristine, it will always be fairly easy to dig up another one later on if you feel the need.

Pede stays

Pede stays. The trackball was the deciding factor although, it is true that the ladies love centipede. If only that was true.

Exactly sadly we all know that but I doubt there are many women out there that do. A few drunken nights I have actually tried to use that as a pickup line.... Fail.

I'd make that trade....Centipedes are always available, Time Pilot's - not as much.

Drop the crack pipe and walk away from the open flame. Both games are readily available, but most times you can get a TP without opening the wallet all of the way. I would say most pedes are in the 4-6 hundo range, while most TPs go for 2-3

Around here I've seen 4-5 `pedes sold in the last 3 years... ZERO Time Pilots...

I wonder why the ladies like pede so much?!

It's not like they know a woman created it! :D

The learning curve is much lower for most trackball games. Women understand how to play them immediately. I figure this is why Ms Pac does well with the ladies as well, it is simple.

My wife can't stand Gyruss - too much going on. However, she will play Macross as long as it is on freeplay. The game is somewhat complicated but you can just continue and continue uninterrupted. The only pin I have that she, or other women, will continue to play is Twister - it has a timed ball save feature that helps poor players immensely. I have actually seen wome walk away from my Old Chicago pin mid game because it is too hard.
