hey all, just picked up a centipede cabaret and am trying to get it working 100%. first of all, let me preface this by saying i did a search but couldnt find anything with regards to my specific problem, so please dont flame me if its been covered ad nauseum.
i got a trackball rebiuld kit from bob roberts and went to town on the old trackball. i plugged it back in, but couldnt get the proper directions to work in the original orientation in the cp, so i took it out and apart again, dicked around for a while, and finally determined i can just turn it 180 degrees and mount it to get the directions working properly. anyway, when i put it back in (after first doing the rebuild), it worked like a charm, albeit kind of sluggish due to the new bearings. after i took it out to try to mount it differently (and taking it apart a couple times), it still works great, but my ship (pod, guy, whatever) keeps jumping down. all other directions work perfectly. i took it apart again just to make sure everything was in order (clean the optical sensors, discs werent rubbing anything, etc) and still have the problem. could this be board related and not trackball (which would be odd, since the ship wasnt jumping before)? also, im guessing its not a big deal, but does trackball orientation in the cp matter?
