hey, just picked up a dead centipede with a go7 in it. put a good chassis in it and a workin logic board. Got it up and running , i am getting a little background staic on the screen. would this be caused by the ground missing on the plug or the 30 year old big blue? anything else i should order from bob?

Is the static rolling around on the screen or stationary and blinking on and off? Any chance you can shoot a video of it?

I have a similar issue and if rolling....it is an error in your video output circuit.....

Make sure you have the anode cup completely attached correctly. Mine wasn't attached correctly and it was making that noise plus some sweet strobe effects... Make sure the grounding cord that goes around the outside of the screen is in the correct position and it is plugged into the chassis. If its coming from the flyback itself, it could have a crack in it and it may need to be replaced.
Just a thought.

i will check that out and see , thanks

centipedes will do that if you DO NOT have a ground strap hooked up the the frame of the monitor. (clip style or hex screw)
do that and lmk how it turns out
should fix it.
