I have a Centipede that has a tiny portion of the playfield cut off on the screen where you will only see 1/2 a mushroom on the left side. Also, the game doesn't take up the full screen.

Is this just a setting on the monitor I am missing? I didn't see any settings though for something like this, where would it be if it was a setting? Does it need a cap kit? All this is new to me and I am trying to learn.

Thanks for any help in advance.

On the monitor chassis there will be controls for height, width, and position. If the left side of the screen is cut off, then you need to adjust the height and/or the vertical position. Remember, Centipede uses a vertical monitor - which is just a regular monitor on it's side. The controls refer to it's orientation as it would be if it were horizontal (like a television).

What kind of monitor do you have in the game? We can tell you where to look for the controls.

Hi Ian, thanks for your reply. There are just three knobs on the back of it. How do I tell what kind of monitor it is? When I adjusted the ones on the monitor, it just screwed with the color and brightness. Am I missing something, I am sure I am

There are several different types of monitors used in arcade machines. Usually they are labelled on the metal frame of the monitor somewhere with a maufacturer and model. Sometimers these stickers fall off though. Common monitors are the Electrohome G07, Wells Gardner 4600 or 4900. The 4600 is easy to spot because it has some little circuit boards sticking up in the middle of the chassis. G07's are very common - these have a label on the metal frame of the chassis itself. Easiest way is probably to comare the chassis you have with the pictures on Bob's site:

Or, you can post a photo of it and one of us can identify it.

Sounds like foldover...

Could be - but then it wouldn't really look cut off, it would would look compressed. From his description, it sounds like it's just off the side of the tube, like it's misadjusted too far in one direction.

But yeah, it could definitely be foldover. Could be lots of things :) We'll have to see if he can give us a picture of the screen.

It is compressed in the screen but cutoff at the left portion of the compressed screen. I will get a picture for your guys when I head over there tonight. Thank you again for your help,

I tried messing with the different settings and none of them appeared to be the V-size. Am I missing something here? Total newbie here to all this, sorry
