Centipede - scrambled text - RAM error?

It coins up and plays, but the text is scrambled and the guy shoots double instead of a single arrow each time you fire. Besides the double arrows and text, it looks ok.

The sound seems to work fine, yet when I put it into test mode I get no beeps at all.

Both the 6502A and POKEY chips were white/cruddy looking, so I replaced the sockets with double wipes and swapped those 2 chips over from a known working board. All of the other socket chips were reseated.

Looking at the pic below, does anyone have a recommendation on what I should try next? Thanks in advance-

BTW....the weird color shift has something to do with the tube swap I did. NOt sure if it needs demagnetized, but the color shifts severely from top to bottom..

No beeps?

If it passes the RAM tests then reseat the ROMs at F7 and HJ7. It probably has bad socket contacts on one of them.
 
Thanks. No beeps at all.

I know some say to lose the closed sockets. Guess I'll have to order some good sockets. I think this one is close to working!
