I recently brought home a beautiful Millipede, and I have since fallen in love with it. All the artwork has been replaced, trackball was rebuilt, and now that I have thrown a new monitor and marquee fixture, the game looks damn near new. It also came with the Multipede kit, which is so sick!

However, I am already the proud owner of a HUO Centipede with only a couple hundred plays on the odometer. I have rebuilt its trackball and it too plays and looks like new. Now with the limited space I have, I feel its redundant to have two machines that play nearly the same games. I will find a way to keep both, but I was curious as to what you would do? Would you keep the HUO Centipede, or the restored Millipede with a Multipede kit?

millipede would get you a few more bucks on the open market

no matter what shape that centipede is in, I still figure it to be a $250-$400 game (my opinion)

millipede with the kit and restored could get you $600+ if you were patient

personally I'd keep both but the logical answer would be to keep the millipede since it has both games in it with the multipede kit. Plus you seem to be pretty good at getting high dollar for your games and centipede will command more money than millipede. If it weren't for the fact that I already have a centipede and I can be cheap I'd be interested in a HUO centipede myself.

I'd keep the Millipede. Multigame, 3" trackball vs. 2-1/2" (IIRC), cooler art.

Besides - and I know someone else just posted to the contrary - it seems like more people remember Centipede and prefer the art on that one. From what I've seen at auctions and what I've seen happen with online sales Centipede usually sells for more and more quickly despite being more common.

I would keep the Millipede if yours has the multi kit. It is one of my absolute favorite looking cabinets and games.

Were it me I would sell them both and buy a Galaxian. The gameplay is practically the same.

:p

Sell the Centipede, if it really only has a couple hundred plays on it that means you aren't playing it much in the first place. Might as well get the 2 in 1.

You will have a much easier time finding another nice Centipede in the future than you will a nice Millipede.

I was in that situation once, except for the HUO part, and ended up selling Centipede and keeping the Multi-pede. No regrets.

I just started playing Millipede again this past weekend on my MAME cabinet (I own an Irish Centipede) and finally "get it." I have visited the game a hundred times over my lifetime and always hated it but for whatever reason this past weekend, it clicked and I love it.

I'd have to keep the Centipede, multi the Millipede, and keep both.

Sell the Centipede and buy another game with the funds.... Playing either game is better with the larger trackball IMO, and with the Centipede being HUO you should get a really nice price for it.

Same problem this winter, bought Millipede with multi & already had a Centipede.
My problem with the Centipede is it was the 1st game I ever bought.
Moved the Centipede into storage & will be selling it. Life carried on, I thought I'd be more attached to it.

You should keep the Millipede so I can come over and visit it. :)

I think that was probably the nicest game I have ever owned.

What he said. +1

Easy: keep Centipede.

Millipede is great, Multipede is great, but it's a restored machine. Not in original condition.

Restored machines abound; clean originals do not.

I like centipede way more and consider more of a classic.
