Game does not power up. But, I can hear a continuous 'hiss' from the back of the game. I replaced the Big Blue 2 weeks ago, and that solved my previous problem.

Does anyone know what's going on?

I'm not handy w/ a multi-meter, but I can get someone to do it for me. Anything else I need to check? Thanks.

hope that "hiss" isn't a broken neck on the tube!! if it's continuous hiss than it's not tube and might just check pcb edge connector....had that once!

kray, I cleaned the edge connector with a cotton swab, but it didn't fix the problem. I'll have to get someone to check the voltages since I own a multi-meter but don't know how to use the damn thing.

Does the game not power on at all? i.e., no marquee light or coin door lights? Does it play blind, i.e. drop a coin in and the volcano start button flashes, and/or hear sounds coming from the speaker during play?

have you checked any fuses? as far as testing your voltages, it's really easy to do. set your meter on dc voltage, the symbol looks like a v with a dash and then a few dots under it. i can't find it in the manual online, but there should be a visible test point on the pcb itself that should say +5 tp or something to that effect, and a ground point as well. can't remember exactly, it's been a little while since i've owned a pede. anyways, put your red lead on the +5 point and black on the ground, and that will tell you your +5, which is the main voltage on the board. if you show nothing there, the game will not operate.

and btw, does everything look ok on your AR/2 board? nothing burned, etc.

Dan, I like you, that's why I'm going to give you the best advice I can give: man up and learn how to use your tool. Follow the tips on the post above mine (cleverlyj) and you'll do just fine. I don't say this to be mean, but when you've been in this hobby as long as you have, it actually shocks me to hear you don't know how to use one.

In this hobby, it's one of those very important tools that you can NOT do without.
