SOLD - GAME Centipede (in So Cal)

GLWTS. Love my centipede

lol me too, this is its step-brother. one day my neighbor expressed interest in a Centipede as it was her favorite game as a kid. She said she would love to have one if I decided to sell it or find another. I happened to come across this one and thought, oh she'll love it. well, she moved out to Palm Springs and was tempted by one of those fancy multi/lcd blasphemous arcade concoctions and this one was left without a new home. so sad...

as the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished. I guess I'll ask for a deposit next time to secure commitment, oh well
need to make some space so it's available for adoption :)

I just had this conversation with my wife yesterday. How many times I would buy a game for a friend and then end up being stuck with it. It's like we're always trying to get people into the hobby so there is someone else that can enjoy this madness with us, but it really does take a special person to fully commit. I was out at the bar Saturday night, and of course I had someone come up and asked me if I could get his friend one of the newer golden tee pedestals. I said you know I get this question or one similar at least once a month from somebody, and then when I finally find the game and they hear the price, they always turn tail and run. He just laughed. He said "yeah that's just it, people want this shit but they don't wanna pay for it or make room for it. Well I'll make sure he's fully committed before I make you go looking for one" I thought yeah that helps, but I still don't think I'm gonna fall for it.

lol, yep every time. oh, how much? oh I cant spend that much. cant you do it cheaper???

in this case I started looking for a cab, then bought some parts on here from different sellers. then i came across a great deal on a working game and bought that to be stuck with all of it. Well, some things just went to a good guy here in trade so there's that but still. Lesson learned, someone wants something, ask for a deposit to secure funding for the project and their commitment. anything less and its $ talks, bullshit walks.
