Hi all.

Got an upright cab some months ago and finally got around to try fixing it.

The game boots up, but it is a bit glitchy.

I have measured all the voltages, and it is all there exept the -5 volt. Can the absense of -5 volt cause the issues posted in the picture below?

I have not yet changed the big blue.

Don't change the big blue. Test it. Do not replace things unless you can MEASURE that they are bad. Guessing is not a troubleshooting strategy.

How to test a big blue:

Also, where are you testing the voltages?

Check test mode and report back any errors that get displayed. Do not just take a picture of the test result screen and post it. Google and download the Centipede user manual to understand the test screen, what it tells you, and any errors that are reported.

Thank you for the big blue "how to". It says it to measure 0.2, so i have cleared that one.

I have put the machine in test mode and booted it up, the only problem is that the lack of -5 volt, as i have Come to understand is controlling the audio, is missing, so no tone can be heard.

The test screen is completely yellow with one capital P in the bottom left corner.

I have taken all the eproms out and cleaned them all and reseated them all.

I am suspecting eprom failiure.

Fix the -5V. Replace the 7905 on the AR. That might not fix the other problems, but when it comes to debugging, fix the things you can.

Make sure you have a silpad and nylon screw on the regulator. It must be isolated from the heatsink.
