centipede garbage on screen

The wiring harness in the Centipede might not be making complete contact with the edge connector on the PCB. Try cleaning the edge connector on the PCB see what happens.

That's what I did and it fixed the problem.

Generally "garbage on screen" is not a monitor problem....so like the other guys have suggested, you need to check everything else in the cabinet first.

That looks like it COULD be a sync issue? I'm assuming that Centipede has a G07 in it. You try giggling the video input wire to chassis and see if your "garbage" changes? I have seen those pins on the connector have a bad connection and give a similar problem.....

I would check 2 things.....
#1 that the video input wire is making a good connection where it plugs into the chassis....
#2 with the monitor off, that the resistance on sync pot changes as you dial it up and down..

check out both and both are fine any othe ideas

i had a simular problem when i changed the monitor in mine. my fix was i had to move the synk wire in the pcb harness to the composit synk position in the harness i forget wich pin it was but its in the manual its labled composit synk out put. after i changed that i was good to go. and i changed to a sanyo EZ20 with a converter board and it looked great.

there are 2 switches on the monitor chassis 1 says HS COM neg or pos setting and the other says VS neg or pos what setting should these be set on for centipede

According to the copy of the manual I have for my KTN-2001, both were set as "positive" from the factory.

I don't think I had to adjust either one when I installed my monitor, so try that and see if it works.
