A revelation- and a few questions...

So I had a 'pede for a few months with wicked color bleeding, screen burn, and some vertical white lines down the side. Guy I bought it from said he had it looked at and was told it needed replacing- ha. So i figure, cap kit for sure and have been waiting to get to it.

BIG MISTAKE! Stupid me had never played with the monitor adj.

First I rolled the screen horizontally- within a minute almost no more screen burn! Hey I thought screen burn was permanent, why was I able to get it cleaned by just rolling the image?

Then, i figure im on a roll- so i start messing with the rgbs. I turn red and blue as far to the right as they will go- and my screen looks nearly new! Everything just sharpened right up, amazing. But what does it mean that i had to turn them as far as they will go to get that image? Is that bad in anyway that they had to be turned so far to acheive a proper image?

The monitor still takes a good 2-3 mins to warmup. And in the warmup phase I can see all the problems I used to have slowly dissappearing. So what does this monitor really need? A cap kit? New fly? Im certainly hesitant to do anything to it right now, looking as good as it does, but what are the symptoms showing is going to happen down the road here?

Please send me some of that good shit you're smokin my friend. I want to experience disappearing screenburn and anything else that might appear or disappear while under the influence. Until then, try some caps and a tube rejuv.

Gee thanks. Actually, it's the best stuff on earth, this is California ;)

But I promise seeing the High Score burn in magically disappear was not a residual effect! You could clearly see all the burn when the monitor was powered off before, and now- it is still there for sure, but it's about %40 of what it was. There must be some explanation, maybe I wasn't seeing screen burn (on this 30 yr old original pede monitor- ha! right) what could be easily mis-diagnosed screen burn then? This monitor literally looked like crap and inside of 10 mins was looking nearly new, blacks came back- screen burn lessened significantly, no color bleeding. I was certainly amazed .

Yeah, burn-in is basically just etch-a-sketch material on the glass... to erase it, you just need to shake really hard :p .
