The unit is missing the top glass, and owner says the usual thing of "the monitor stopped working, but apparently it's a connection issue" which is impossible to know.

He's charging too much for a non-displaying game with missing parts ($300), but what would be a good price to make it worthwhile turning it into a project?

i saw that ad yesterday. i think $100 would be fair if its playing blind. at least you know the board and power supply works. he is crazy if he thinks he is going to get $300.

How rare are those shapes of topglass?

I could have it made to the shape, but that's expensive.

I agree with the values given, I've been buying up cocktails for the last 6 months and I wouldn't think more than $50 ~ $75 depending on cosmetics. Assume it's a wood box and nothing works. If it plays blind, $100 ~ $125 for the working parts. If completely shopped condition working, $450 max (that's the "retail" I was quoted on one a few months ago) but more like $350 max (I'm frugal).

I doubt he'll deal right now because you're too far apart.

My Missile Command cocktail is missing the top glass and is probably last in line to get fixed up because of that fact. I could probably buy another project cocktail with good glass on it cheaper than I could replace the glass on one.

Joetechbob is trying to get some reproed.

I picked up a non-working Missile Command with the top glass for $50.

On that note, I think I'll pass.

The guy says that..."( happened right after i lifted the top up. )"

There's the safety switch that turns the power off, if the top is lifted..
It could be a simple thing, but $300 under all those conditions?
If you're close, I'd say go look at it, state the facts..I like the $75 idea.
Or, wait a week or two until it's posted again at $125.

That's useful. I might go and have a look. Our man just dropped the price to $250...

I got glass cut for Centipede for about 65 dollars in San Francisco, which is not known for its low, low prices. Had some trouble applying the Arcadeshop underlay though -- it's really difficult to do (learned about the wet technique though, so I will try again).

I've closely examined my original Centipede cocktail glass and it is NOT silkscreened, it is a decal, with obvious transparent bleed areas. Surprising!

I wouldn't hate spending $65 on glass if I could get it beveled. Question: Does the original cut away over the two control panels, or does it cover it?

Spoke to the owner who seems convinced he's still the cheapest. We shall see.

Moonlighted at a place that did mirrors back during the real estate boom. Glass with funny shapes or cutouts costs a fortune compared to normal glass. It is just too easy to screw up. We charged a huge upcharge for mirrors with holes or other cutouts in them (usually to clear power outlets).

It's just a rectangle. I haven't seen any that are H-shaped.
