I picked up a Centipede mini Saturday. I was looking at the one Dyduck posted and noticed some differences. Curious as to why.

Notice the differences in the bezel and cpo? Not wich one is early or late or what.

Also. I always thought that the Ataris with the SN sticker on the front were Tempests.
Here is mine without the sticker and my Dig dug that is a Tempest conversion that has the sticker. Any thoughts on this?

Hmmm... I don' know the answer to this, but I'd be interested in knowing what the deal is. Let me know if you need me to take/post any other pics of mine or if there's anything I can do to help on my end. I can tell you that there's a "born on date" (?) of 3 11 81 on the bottom of mine (see attached). If you think anything like the serial number will help, let me know.

I did some googling on "centipede cabaret bezel" and found a third version of the bezel here...

http://www.appolo.com/projects/centipede/centipede_project.htm
(the one on the right has an orange mushroom in the center with atari logo at the top)

and here...

But I've not been able to find another example of a Centipede Cabaret with the same bezel as mine... (see attached).

Anyone have any info on what's up with the three different Centipede Cabaret bezels?

Bezels

I guess it is just me and you on this. Hopefully someone else chimes in. That is intersting. I also notice mine looks to have a black monitor surround as compared to the others with blue. All the upright Centis I have had have been blue. Mine must have been changed at some point. I would guess they just changed the art during the production run. Or like you said. Maybe an Euopean version. It seems to me that the Euros were different all together. The mystery continues.

Mini Info

Here is some handy info that was passed along to me in a thread about my Dig dug.

Take a look at the panel above the back door. If there are perforated metal vents, then it was originally a Tempest. (There will also be a wooden vent assembly on the top panel as well) I have all three 19" cabaret games and the only one I have that has an Atari sticker in the front and the Atari coin reject button labels is my Tempest.

The model number on the serial number sticker will be 28902 if it is a Tempest.

Here is an example:

I got one of these a week ago. I'll take a look at it tonight.

I would help you guys out if I could, but my Dig Dug cabaret came right out of the engineering lab and has never had serial number stickers or artwork at all. I do believe that I read somewhere that the Centipede bezel with the black (Dyduck's) is the European version.

I've had both cabaret bezel versions, my take on it is the early one has the Atari sticker in the lower left hand corner and the later one had it screened in the upper center.

At least that's following the usual pattern of things at Atari- leaving off the logo on first versions and adding it later.

There are also different versions of the lower marquee, one with more purple in the background.

Here's pics of the back of mine and the front serial number sticker. No vents on the back and model number is 30202. I can also verify that the serial number on the front sticker matches the serial number located on the back of the cab, on the monitor chasis, the game pcb, regulator/audio II pcb and power supply.

Perhaps some other Centipede Cabaret owners can verify their's as well?

I have two of these (plus at least one extra bezel) that look like dyuck's, though I'm not sure on the color of the cardboard. No sticker on the front.
Being in Germany I guess they are Irish built, I'd have to check (US imports did show up now and then).
