Painstakingly restored Centipede. Just about saved this from a dumpster. More pictures to follow to show where this game started.

I know, I know, $2000...never gonna happen. Anyone who has restored a game from the cabinet up, knows the amount of money spent on materials alone. Not looking to negotiate a deal. If someone wants a rock solid, pretty much new piece of American history, here it is. Just want this to go to someone who will appreciate the sweat, blood and frustration put into this.

Repaired water damage. Front panel is new.
Tested and rebuilt PCB (fellow KLOVer)
Rebuilt AR2
CP stripped, painted, new overlay
Rebuilt trackball - new ball, rollers, bearings, optics
New molding
New full side art
New marquee
New bezel
Cabinet painted inside and out
New big blue and rectifier
All new wiring from PS to AR2
Sorry fellas, dumped the CRT. New, crisp 19" LCD
And dumped the coin door. Great guys at Escape Pod made the Centipede head. LED backlit.
All LED lighting

Local pick up for now. Easy removal from basement.

While I'm more of a purist. I really do like the backlit front panel.

Thanks man. Grew up in the 80's scrounging for quarters just like everyone else. Nothing better than having friends over trying to get those days back. Just wanted to try something a little off the wall, something a little different.

Make the game more appealing to buyers?

If I was looking for a Centipede your game would be much more appealing to me with a CRT and put the coin door back on. I wouldn't mind that back lit Centipede thing in the coin door as a removable topper (heck I wouldn't mind putting it on the wall next to my Centipede) but I'd rather have something more original in function and look and LCD's look too flat, lifeless, and blocky for classic arcade graphics and you kind of expect an original arcade machine to have coin slots. I'm really starting to think there's a lot of people out there with extremely poor vision if they're choosing LCD's over CRTs for these games when LCD's look blatantly inferior.... The rest of the restore work looks great.
