Hey all-

Before I kill myself or my monitor I need some advice. I need to center the image on my twin cobra game but none of the pots the chassis will do it. I read that I could shift the yoke centering rings. can I do that while the game is on? plus, How exactly do I go about doing that? seems like there are alot of them, more than just the two for horizontal and vertical movement.

1st off - what monitor is it? Some monitors have shift jumpers instead of pots that will move the image.

2nd - the monitor manual usually has instructions on how to do this. The rings for centering are the pair closest to the front of the tube. It's best to loosen them and make sure they spin (without the others spinning) with the power off, then turn the power on and adjust them while using a mirror or a friend. Then tighten them back up so they won't spin again. Don't overtighten, or you risk breaking the neck....

I cant tell what this monitor is. The tube says WG 179778. Attached is a picture of the chassis. pretty awful pic but its hard to get to.

the white connector seen in the middle front with 3 pins (and again in the back) are your shift jumpers. Looks like the front one doesn't have one connected. Moving the connector from one pin to the other will cause the inage to shift slightly one direction or the other.

Once connector is for horizontal shift, and the other is for vertical shift:

Is that Twin cobra in a Taito cab. If so step back a bit, and let me see what the chasis looks like. Thank you

how did you know it was a Taito cab? lol

and moving the connector from pin to pin on the chassis didnt move anything. In fact I disconnected it altogether and there was no change.
