I just put side art on a freshly painted DK cabinet. I measured 2 3/4 inches down, got my level out and applyed it based on that. When I got done, I realized it was level to the ground, not to the cabinet, as it is 2 3/4 inches on one side, and nearly 3 inches on the other side. It is just noticably slanting downward. Has anyone else done it this way?

I made a mark and then used my level to position the tape, and matched the top of the side art to the tape.. But my machine isnt level so it looks goofy.. So on my next machine should i make 2 marks 2 3/4" and center the tape across that mark?

Actually..always make at least 3 marks. If you make 2 marks and one is off..like you look at the measuring tape wrong, it may not be apparent until it's too late.

When you make 3 or more marks, if one is off, then it's a red flag to recheck your measurements. The 3 marks should fall in a straight line. I haven't cut a crooked sheet of plywood in a while since I started doing it that way.

I'm not by my machine but hopefully someone here can measure down from top to decal (big debate there btw) and then measure from bottom up to decal. Then measure from back side of cab to decal. Making marks (as mentioned 3 is a great number) Then use painters tape to mark your edges and apply it.

Just like the window tint guys, i like to mist a little soap and water mixture on the cabinet before i apply any side art. In doing this, and after you have made all your measurments, you can then step back and take a look to see if it all looks good. If not, you can reapply until its just right. Good luck!
