My left bumber keeps going off anytime a ball hits another bumber on the playfield... also the bumber doesnt work if the ball hits it directly... any ideas?? is the coil for the bumber bad??

well no thats not my only problem..... Seems it wont shoot all 5 balls out when you get MAXIMUM ORITAL STRIKE ACHEVIED it only shoots out 1 , but you hear the kicker tring to kick the ball, but the balls wont enter the chamber to be kicked out, just one...

Also when all 4 guardian lights are active, it shoots one ball like its suppose to, but its tring to kick 5 balls out... you can hear the kicker tring but its not suppose to ick more then once when the guardian is achieved... i dont understand.. is it the MPU board that has the problem?

Problem 1 is not a bad coil, more likely the switch is adjusted too close and vibrations are setting it off. Another possibility is a bad diode. Does it actuate everytime a switch activates or is it only specific switches? If it is specific switches I would check the diode on the coil as well as the other coils on that string. A shorted diode can sometimes cause these types of problems.

The second problem could be switches or just dirty troughs. If the troughs aren't clean then the balls fail to roll properly. Other things that can affect the roll of the balls are angle of the machine - both front to back and side to side. Improper angle can cause the balls to hang up at odd places.

The third problem sounds like a switch problem as well. The system has switches that watch for the ball to be deployed. If those switches are not closing then the machine thinks the bal failed to launch so it is trying again.

Have you replaced the connectors in the head of the machine yet? Does your maching still have the original boards, and if is the battery still present? Battery leakage can cause all sorts of problems with these machines as well...

problem solved... i found a micro switch that was bent in the track that the ball rolls over which tells the machine the ball has been released... it kept kicking cause it wasnt telling it that it had been released..... Now it works 100%... I finnaly have MAXIMUM ORBITAL STRIKE!!!

i think your right on this... im gonna order new coils(with diodes) and see if it fixes it...

Usually I swap the wires with a nearby known working coil, if the other pop-bumper works you can try invert the wires with the one that's not working to see what happens.

cool ideal... but im just gonna do the NEW thing... i dont mind getting new stuff for this machine... my plans are accually to TOTALLY restore this machine...
