My left bumber keeps going off anytime a ball hits another bumber on the playfield... also the bumber doesnt work if the ball hits it directly... any ideas?? is the coil for the bumber bad??

Problem 1 is not a bad coil, more likely the switch is adjusted too close and vibrations are setting it off. Another possibility is a bad diode. Does it actuate everytime a switch activates or is it only specific switches? If it is specific switches I would check the diode on the coil as well as the other coils on that string. A shorted diode can sometimes cause these types of problems....
i think your right on this... im gonna order new coils(with diodes) and see if it fixes it...
Usually I swap the wires with a nearby known working coil, if the other pop-bumper works you can try invert the wires with the one that's not working to see what happens.
