Celebrity game collectors??

I always wondered if John Cusack had any arcade games, being the 80s actor that he was/is.

Also, found this tip regarding "Grosse Pointe Blank":

"The arcade game that the Ultimart employee is playing during the shootout is the aptly titled classic Doom II. The game was never actually available in a commercial arcade cabinet and must have been constructed specially for the film."

I don't get the whole Kevin Sorbo thing -- was it just a fake account making funny posts, or is there a bigger backstory behind it?

Not a collector, but the guy at Brady Distributing told me once that Dale Jr. bought one of those huge horse racing games, the one with the big screen and about 8 podiums where you sit and play on the small screens.... and had it installed in his girlfriend's basement. Then they broke up and he left it there, lol.

LOL!!! This one is going to have me laughing for weeks!

I thought I read somewhere that the guy that played Spock in the latest Star Trek (Zachary something) collected arcade games...

BTW somebody mentioned on the "Gary Coleman just died" thread that he owned an actual commercial arcade a while back. So looks like we lost one collector!

Not sure if he's a real big collector, but NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick has mentioned having some arcade games before, specifically Galaga.

Isn't Will Wheaton a big arcade fan?

Yes, Wil Wheaton has written (recent) reviews of classic arcade games (http://www.avclub.com/users/wil-wheaton,16/), and about playing arcade games when he was a kid in at least one of his books.

Steven Spielberg was a huge Missile Command fan. He wrote the introduction to the Martin Amis book "Invasion of the Space Invaders." In the book there is a full page photo of Spielberg leaning on his own personal Missile Command cabinet.

I'm convinced Hoffa was big into arcade games - I also believe his body was distributed in early runs of Centipede cabs...

A friend of mine who knows Vince Vaughan didn't think he had a game room, but Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine used to have Fish Tales and Attack From Mars pins.

The only one I'm aware of (true collector, not someone with a lot of money who buys anything they think "might" be cool) is Ben Affleck. He (at least, used to) keeps a house in MA just to house his games.

Edward

remember reading on the net, that with his first paycheck (... ironic due to the movie he played later..), he bought a "moon patrol" cab. first payroll and buy a cab ? that is respect ! :)

the "no doubt" music band, had some classics little gameroom. (shown in Mtv cribs)

Bunnies like to play games

Hugh Hefner has been into games and pins for a long time. I have a buddy that routinely throws parties at the Playboy mansion for a radio station he works for and I have had several friends go into his gameroom. They sent me some pics on their phones, but they were hard to make out much. It sounded like he had darn near 100 games/pins and all they could say was that there were several scantly clad bunnies playing pinball machines and they could barely play anything with the distractions. It sounded like it is routinely up and running and virtually every game was fully working and on when they went. Next time I go to LA I am going to time it around when he is having a party there, so that I can check it out- if I can make it past the grotto that is!

...mtv cribs... showed the Heffner gameroom, there wasn't more than ~20 games...(and the 3 Playboy pins)

the creator of the "Burnout" game serie, had bought since many pinballs. there was picture in a french magazine years ago.
