I have a CD100-A that was working good. Last night I noticed there is no sound from the right channels. I tried switching the input from the player (RCA plugs) and still the same thing. What should I check next?

Thank you,
Joe

Pull the amplifier out.

First, inspect the preamp board and both driver boards for cold solder joints at the connectors.

Second, check the driver boards for blown fuses.

Third, test the output transistors for any that test "open".

Fourth, inspect the speaker crossover board mounted on the inside wall of the amplifier compartment. Look for cold solder joints on it.

Hi Ken,
Thank you for the reply. I checked all that I could and could not find anything. When I bought the Juke the guy gave me an extra amp. He said it did not work. Since I had the old one out I thought I would give it a try. Well, now I have sound on the right but the left channel plays but not as loud and it has static. I am thinking I may try switching out some boards. Suggestion on which one? There are the two driver boards( I assume the top is the right channel?) and there is the large board on the right.

Hi,
I switched out the right side driver board from the extra amp that came with the Jukebox and that took care of the problem. Sound GREAT. Better than before. The other board must have been on it's last legs.
Would be nice to have a few extra boards on hand. Know of anyone that takes the old ones in exchange and or rebuilds them or has new ones?

Thank you,
Joe

Hello Joe,

Ken is correct Bruce Wentworth is the man to send in all your Rowe Ami boards and amplifiers for repairs in the USA. He also stocks the turntable drive belts, spagwheels and stem bushing on the Rowe Ami mechanisms/carousels.
