I'm trying to help my father on his jukebox, local repair shop is no longer.

Why is it that when a cell phone is near this jukebox i can hear some noise coming out of the speakers..(clicking / popping noise).

Are these speakers not shielded or bad grounding?

Thanks!

Somewhere there is poor or insufficient sheilding. Hard to say where without using an oscilloscope to track it down.

Not an uncommon problem, and maybe near impossible to solve. My cell phones cause noise through computer speakers and I can sometimes hear CB radio conversations clearly through computer speakers as the operator drives by my house (probably broadcasting at way more than legal power). My church used to pick up CB conversations occasionally through the PA system. Maybe God likes CB radio too. Here is a site with some good info.

I'm kind of new to this but i was reading and will probably going to connect some external speakers hopefully it's just the internal speakers that aren't shielded .

worth a try.

thanks
