This is my first CAX, so I'm not sure what to expect crowd-wise. Do the games have lines, or is there usually enough going on w/ tournaments, guest speakers, etc. that you'll pretty much get to sample everything at some point? I'm guessing the later it gets on Saturday, it'll clear out a bit....and maybe Sunday won't be as busy as Saturday?

I went last year and had no problem getting on any game I wanted without waiting much at all. There are always loads of empty games, so if the game you want it taken there is always something else to play until it frees up :)

Word.

Although, there are some games that were difficult to get on. Some of the pins ALWAYS had someone on them. I didn't play a lot of the games because I didn't want to wait.

Also, with the pins, most people playing pins that allow for multiple players will let you get in the mix. I played quite a few games with others that I had no clue who they were, we were just all waiting for the same game so we decided to play it together.

Probably both. But again, I didn't really wait for many games - I'm sure they would have let me in if i had.

You'll get to play everything you want to play. Plenty.

Lunch/Dinner time is dead in there, so that's a good time to stay and hang out. I am assuming that with the place being open until 2A on Sat, people will be long gone before then. I could be very wrong though.

Last year I think you only had to wait for Street Fighter 2 HD Remix, and The Act. Everything else, if someone was playing it, you could just do a lap and come back and it would be empty.

Ya, I am really glad I am staying at the show hotel this time around. Last year stayed at a different hotel for some reason. My wife's a travel agent and got us an agent rate of $50/Night at the Hyatt. So nice to game like crazy and then hit the room to rest and then come back down and start all over again. I definitely will be closing the place both nights :) Can't wait !!

You and me both, brothah! I love the idea of staying where the event is taking place....so convenient!

Would be awesome to stay right there, but my parents live in SJ so at least I'm getting a free place to stay. :) My wife and kids won't be there after dinner on Saturday so I'll see how long I can last into the night! :)

Yeah, I'm fortunate enough to live practically within walking distance of the show this year. The parking will be no problem unlike parkside hall so I'll be able to go home and back in a minute of I need apart or something.

Seems like the linked driving games and some of the pins always have someone on them but you got all day and people come and go so there is usually a chance to get to play the games you want to play.

This is why some people, not me, don't bathe for an extended period prior to the show. In their condition, they can literally walk up to any game any it will quickly be freed up so they can play with virtually no wait.

If you are wanting to play modern pins, it is rare that you will be able to walk up and play. There is usually a line. Vids are pretty easy to get a game on.
