CAX Early Check-In

I am in Sunnyvale for tonight... I was too cheap to pay $159 for the Hyatt for tonight when nobody was gonna be there!

I thought the hotel was $84? I just got home from helping ken and tj load the last 2 truckloads..

Its been a busy day.. I took 2 pickup loads of my games (2 more to go), and I got to meet Ed logg.

Anyway, got my 12 games over there last night. Just chillin' today. We can get together at my house this afternoon whenever, just let me know. Andy should have my number if he's looking at the forum.

Seriously, if you guys "can't wait" for either of these two occurrences, you have way too little going on in your day-to-day.

Both events will be a non-issue.

If anything, it will likely forever-after turn down some of the punktastic rhetoric in the political forums, which I try like hell to avoid these days (and do a much better job at it than I used to do).

Inferno, Quantum, Indiana Jones, Sinistar (my HUO!), Star Trek, Joust 2, I, Robot, PacMan, Millipede, Zookeeper, Bosconian, Mad Planets, Venture, and Asteroids.

Be going offline very soon to pick up a bunch more from 2 other friends (to completely fill the truck), and then to the show!

Actually, the punktastic rhetoric is wearing. I spend valuable time out of my day to say what I say, which is nothing less than well-balanced, persuasive commentary, only to be attacked with nonsensical tidbits of spew.

I'm past security and I've already had to move from my seat twice. One guy had to talk really loud on his cell phone so that people three miles away can hear him too, and another woman had such a bouncy leg that it bounced the entire row of chairs. I hate that shit. I hate traveling by plane.

Well, cab ride to and from is $60. Park my car here for 2.5 days is $60. Have my wife drop me off on the way to work (which is on the way) and pick me up Sunday evening is free. We live 10 minutes from John Wayne up a freeway with little or no traffic, so getting to and from is easy.

I'm not a cheap ass, but I don't like throwing my money away.

Flight is at 11am. It is prudent to be at the airport 2 hours early, which is 9am. Well, instead I got here around 8am.

For that extra hour of sitting around at the airport playing with free wifi, I save $60.

There are a lot of jobs that are much more difficult than sitting around at the airport playing on the internet that I'd take for $60/hr.

Well, I guess we'll have to continue w/ our same-old-same old - cuz I'm not at CAX. I'm flattered that you all assumed I'd be there...I never said I would be. Anyway - combination some personal shit, not being in a road trip mood, and sorta feeling like I played everything I wanted to play last year (oddballs and protos)....plus, I think I'm going to go to Pinball Expo in Chicago this year, so that'll be my arcade/pin event/trip for the year.

If a M1A/RH meetup is something people are craving so badly, we don't live that far from each other....lets make a party out of it, lol.

As for the pukey rhetoric...I'm so bored of the P&R Forum, I think that's just going to die off naturally...

I was down there tonight setting up and helping move some stuff in. I haven't seen anyone I met last year yet, so I will have to do the meet and greet tomorrow. If you play my Gyruss, try to imagine that in the back of a Rav4. It was packed in there pretty good for the ride down from Reno.

Got into the Hyatt late last night. We had an almost 2 hour delay on the ground in Atl. Normal Delta slowness, plus we had to go back to the gate to kick off an unruly passenger who was drunk. Ugh.

Everything was closed when I got in, but I ordered Round Table pizza to put me to sleep! lol, and it's not bad!

Having coffee right now, trying to get caffienated and functional. Ready to play some games!

The beers were being kicked back in great numbers last night with a lot of us, had a real shitty dinner but with excellent company, and was in bed just before 1. Got to play a few awesome, rare games during the evening. Varkon (sp?) is fucking badass. Played some two player Inferno with ENDOFLINE - a very hard game but simply bitchin' in every way... 7:30am and I'm on here? What the fuck?
