Time for them to update the CAX 2010 Website!

Ok, not going to get too critical but was visiting http://www.caextreme.org/ today to preregister for CAX and WOW, other than the show dates, hotel information and general info... All the forums topics are for CAX 2009... No image of the shirt designs... No mention of CAX 2010 speakers... No mention of the CAX 2010 Tournaments...

We do have a current game list though!!! Maybe it's time to update the website!!!

:)

maybe they'll just cancel the show and tell everyone to just go home
or it could be like the christmas that almost didnt happen,
there will be a big miracle the night before and the show will be saved! :D

That isn't very funny Rich... In fact, I've never been to CA before (other than the airport waiting to fly to Hawaii) and would prefer to visit somewhere else in CA over San Jose.

Hopefully that they can get it updated before it begins. As they might be just so busy.

Bingo! We are all super busy between the show and our day jobs is all. My little guy just turned 1 yesterday and decided to wake up around 4AM last night and refused to go back to sleep...oh well...what's 'ya gonna do? ;) And the fact of the matter is that none of us are particularly adept at web stuff. We try, though :) .

Rest assured, the show is very much on track and will be another blow out in all respects. We're hoping to have some more updates soon as to speakers, seminars, T shirts, etc...

A couple of seminars/talk items are in the works that will be new and novel...we're ironing out the last of the details right now so we can announce, but we don't want to do so until we're 100% sure everything is in place...you know how that goes :) .

I can say that the flyer alludes to some extremely cool, recently unearthed vintage arcade footage from the Atari archives. Atariscott has posted some teasers on youtube that some of you may have seen...very high quality footage shot at local arcades at the height of the video game craze. There is a bunch more that has been found and is being prepared for the show...much of which has never been seen before...well, except maybe by the ex-Atari employees who originally shot it :D . I cannot wait to see this stuff myself as there is so little of it around as we all know...definitely don't want to miss it if you're coming!

So...be patient...all is and will come together, and it should be another terrific show. My games are all ready to go!

See y'all there!

Jon

A updated vendor List would be nice Too :D
I can post the T-Designs I have done
As soon as I get the group 7 Clearance from Team Extreme

The list of games has been updated.
My Star Fire II is on the list. Woohoo!
Hmm. No Missile Command Environmental?
I'm trying to get a Starship 1 to come to the show too.

Who is bringing?

I'd bring a couple games if it weren't for the 4,000 mile round trip!

Last year, the Missile Command cockpit was one of the first games that I played on Saturday morning. It must have come straight to CAX from storage, as the control panel was covered in a layer of dirt. (as was the bezel and monitor) I had to go wash my hands after playing one game.

[Not nit-picking or anything; I appreciate someone merely bringing that big beastie.]

I saw that, was just looking at the games list
anyone know what Video Pinball 2.0 is??

I love that orginal.

In answer to some of the questions being posed :) :

1. Sorry for the MC cockpit dust. This beast does indeed come from a long time contributor to the show who keeps it in his storage warehouse the rest of the year. We do try to have some volunteers go around before the show cleaning up dusty games, but I guess they missed that one last year. Anyone want to volunteer for this simple yet valuable job? :D

2. Video Pinball 2.0 is a brand new, redone version of Atari Video Pinball. I have not seen it in person, but I'm told it will be making its debut at the show by the person behind it :) . And that's all I know...

Wish I could say a little more on the speakers/seminars currently in the final planning stages...but we should have some new and interesting stuff for folks to enjoy on that front. Sorry we're being a little "last minute" on this deal, but we don't want to say anything until we know for sure ;) .

I'm still willing to donate my time on Friday evening/night to sit in the hotel lobby and hand out badges to those that preregistered to expedite the Saturday a.m. process. :)

Dangit, why didn't you say something sooner? :D

No apologies necessary and I didn't want to come across as complaining! Last year was my first trip to CAX, and I thought that the games were generally in great condition. I very much appreciate everyone who hauls them in to share with us.

If you need any volunteer help on Friday afternoon/evening, I'd be happy to assist. Last year, I spent a while on Monday morning helping to fold up and disassemble pinball games before I had to leave for the airport.
