Castlevania:Lords of Shadow

When we got the first videos for it when I worked at Game Crazy, I was stoaked. Once I heard Patric Stewart, I had to do a double take...

I can't wait for this game. Sadly, I'm going to have to. Stupid being broke.

Yeah, been there done that about being broke. I don't get super stoked about very many games, but this is definitely one that falls in that category.

reviews are mixed but kojima was involved. Getting this and enslaved if I can finish dead rising 2 this weekend.

I put it in my amazon wish list quite a while ago, but I'm gonna wait a bit to pick it up since my backlog is getting bigger and bigger and I'm gonna have less time to play once I start moving.

I picked it up today... not sure when I'll get to playing it.

I got it for 360, and it's moved to the top of my 360 list (over FFXIII, Mafia II and a few others), but we're about to have our 2nd kid, so I'm not going to have much free time in the near future.

My buddy has it, so I got to check it out. Didn't play it, but watched him play his file for a bit.

I'm looking forward to play it. Only thing is, it seems just like God of War with a RPG elements in it.

I'm glad the exploration element is there.

I've always enjoyed going back through earlier levels with new abilities to reach new places and such.

Picked it up and played the first few levels. I'm enjoying it so far.

My 2 Cents:
The game plays like Ninja Gaiden meets Dante's Inferno. By far the best Castlevania since Symphony of the Night. It's nice to see that they actually put some thought into this game and the story line is wonderful. The graphics are good and the levels are unique and fun. Kinda reminds me of Tomb Raider in that sense.
The cons are that the camera angles can be frustrating at times. Also there can be a lot of button mashing too.
Overall I loved the game and am really happy to finally have a great Castlevania game to play since the PS1!!

Eh, it was kinda disappointing for me. I already played 3 God of War games, Dante's Inferno and Darksiders. This is the same thing. Also, where are the castles in CASTLEvania? It feels too disjointed, also. The action is sparse, and there isn't really 'exploration' so much as 'oh that way didnt work. oh well no big deal since these paths are pretty much all circular anyway.'

Also, I'm not very fond of the level ending style. It's like you're plodding along, trying to jump here, or there, you get that one chest and then you see this new room and think 'oh cool i can probably jump-BOOM LEVEL COMPLETED PRESS START FOR THE NEXT LEVEL."

And some levels last really really short periods of time and then when you complete them it says '13% complete'. It's really weird. I know some of it is designed to come back and explore once you've gotten a new item or weapon upgrade, etc but it's not done the way SOTN or even the Metroid games were designed. It feels more like a Mega Man game, being able to just replay the entire level over and over again.

I dunno, I didn't really like it. The voice acting is great, Picard and Rush are in it so that's cool, but it just... eh. Not for me. I'm at that huge stone Titan boss and I'm just not really all that jazzed about continuing.

I got to play today for about 2 hours. I liked it a lot. I played the shit outta ninja gaiden so much that I can still run through the hardest difficulty without extending my health bar and pretty much never getting hit. I am also one of the only people I know who likes dantes inferno LOL. I have noticed many things from both of these games and I liked that a lot. I hate reviews that say omg its a god of war clone. well guess fucking what. God of war isnt on xbox so shut the fuck up. I dont own a ps3 and idc how many times these games come out, as long as they look good and have new enemies and characters, then im all for it.

buying this tomorrow.

*also in no way was that towards you payment LOL

I'll admit it doesn't feel like a Castlevania game. And it is alot like God of War I, II, and III and Dante's Inferno and Darksiders, but those were all awesome games. I say keep playing. You're not even finished with the second chapter (out of 12) and you need to play each chapter a minimum of two times each to get everything. I'm playing each level on the hardest setting available at first (knight) and then playing it again on squire difficulty to finish the trial and find any gems, scrolls, or weapon upgrades I might have missed. Then when I acquire a new ability I replay the levels that needed that ability to get all of the extra stuff. And when all of that's done I will still need to play the entire thing on paladin difficulty after it's unlocked. There's a lot to do in this game.

Hell,if your copy is for ps3,wanna sell it? :p

LOL yea that was funny

I just got castlevania 2 for nes. for free! my girlfriend found it in her house with a bunch of others I was surprised.

unfortunately I dont have a nes, yet. but I have a nes controller for pc and already own the rom LOL

He steals the game and then complains about it. Only on klov.

eye. roll.

@Streetz

I loved Simon's Quest. A lot of people hated it because it was different than Castlevania but I always liked the more RPG aspects of it. Dracula's Curse was better than both, sure but I did always like Simon's Quest. It was one of the first NES games I bought with my own money.
