Hey guys Iv read up on casters a few times and Im leaning toward putting them on my games. I know some people dont like them and others do. It would help me out a ton If I added them because I dont really have any help moving them and the old lady gripes when I need help. Lol. So anyway I know that they should be placed as close to the corners as possible for stability, but I hate seeing them. Anyone got any ideas on concealing them? Thanks.

Oh and maybe pics.

After I find my new place, my intent is to make carpeted wooden bases to set each of my games on, like some people here have done. The work well, protect the bottoms of the games, and don't look bad either.

The steel feet aren't bad either, obviously not recommended for wooden floors though. If you do go with the castors, don't put them right at the edge of the wood, you may split it.

Casters

I have hardwood floors and once I add on theres going to be tile in the other half. Im afraid the slider feet may catch the joints in the hardwood.

Recommendation: Find quality nylon slider feet...

This - I put them on all my games and it helps a ton, regardless of what floor type I've been on. If on carpet, I'd recommend the biggest damn ones they make as the bigger they are, the easier they slide on carpet...though they may stick out and look like ass in that case :p

Possibly, but it might depend one which ones you get. It doesn't hurt to try a set on one game to see how it works out.

I use these: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...Id=-1&keyword=furnature+sliders&storeId=10051

While the link goes to Home Depot's website, I have found these in almost every hardware store in my area (and I have bought them out over the past month). Take note of the product number to identify the correct ones (4600). I use these for a few reasons:

1) They slide well on hardwood and carpet, and keep you from damaging either
2) They fit most adjustable feet snugly, so they kind of hold themself in place, even when you tip the machine
3) The slider side is convex so they don't catch, and the foot side is concave to help hold them in place
4) They are pricier than the cheap versions, but still cheaper (and easier to install) than casters
5) They look nice if the machine is on a hardwood floor where you might see them

Keep in mind, the grouting areas in between tiles still will cause resistance on your casters of you do install them. Nothing works perfect for every floor type (at least not anything I have found).

If you go the caster route, get the small ones. On carpet, the only raise the game a little over an inch and you can't even see them unless you're 2 feet tall. They are not rated for as much weight, which is ok as long as you are not holding daily pinewood arcade derbys around the room. It's also totally reversable, if you don't like them just take them off.

I've used those nylon sliders, and they will still scrape up up a wood floor, particularly if there is even a little bit of dirt on it. They're fine on more durable surfaces.

Can't find a link, but the local Fred Meyer has hard plastic caster cups with some carpeting on the back which are fantastic for wood floors. I put a bit of sticky tack on 'em and stick them to the feet on the game. Easy to move around on wood floors, won't damage them, and don't fall off.

I have a couple games with casters on them. I think I'd be okay with them if all my games had them, but only two do, and the height difference bothers me. Also, be careful to leave enough clearance on the sides — on one cab, if you move it sideways, they hit the side panels and lock up.

Casters

The small ones did pop into my mind, but then I thought they may not hold the weight. Ill have to check those out a little further.

I really dont want to scratch the floor for sure. Thanks for that info.
Ill look and see If I can find what your talking about

Im 6-3 so I have no problems with adding height, plus it would make me less of the hunch back while I play. Lol.

try and find titan-25 or R33 leg levelers. http://www2.archpro.com/cgi-bin/worderc?confc=B2C&s=R33-7500*&catalog=100156&target=bottom

honestly i've never had goodluck with casters, they always end up chunking on me even when they are rated for 1000lbs. and i don't like the look but it's your machine you can do with it as your choose.

I use the titan 25's thanks to another member here who's supplied me with some they slide great on my carpet. I figure i'll use them on my only machine with no wheels on the back (robotron) even tho i'll mostlikely use a furniture dolly to get it inside then park it permanently.
