What do you guys use for casters for your cabs?

Anything from the hardware store? Anything to know about?

This will be the first time I've put casters on a game, the rest have the slippery vinyl coated leg levelers...

Thanks!

I dont personally use them at all, I use the vinyl flat ones. I had a mrs pac once with the caster on there, easy to move but I didnt like how tall it made them. If I have to move one a bit or know it'll be moved around alot (during working on it) I break out my furniture dolly.

Hmmm.

I don't think I'm going to have a choice; I will have 5 games lined up along one wall and unless I lose 100 lbs I won't be able to squeak between them to get behind them for service.

I think I really do want to put casters on one so that I can roll it forward and give myself a gab to get behind the game row.

The only game that I have casters on is my Battlezone. I did not add casters to the step but used regular flat ones. To move it, I raise the two flat feet on the step. Once it is in its new place, I lower the flat feet again to level it and to lock it in place. Works great. I don't think I'd put casters on my regular four-footed games unless they were very low profile and could be locked in place.

I just use furniture sliders, a couple bucks from Target. They glide across the floor like a pinball on oil.

For maintenance i can see the need for them, not sure but do they have them with the same thread to go in place of the feet, so its easily changeable?

The sliders seem like a great idea as well.

I spoke a bit late on them with threads to fit..LOL

Hey Demogo,

Could you do me a fav and measure a cab now and then after you put a set on PM if you like. You have me second guessing my old ways....thanks

Will do. First I have to *get* the cab that these will go on. Hopefully that will be soon.

Honestly, I don't think I would just put them everywhere -- the slippery nylon footed leg levelers I got from Todd at TNT are good enough to let me move machines around when I have to, but I need one game that I can easily move to get behind my row. :)

if you don't mind the added height...

Back when I first started collecting, I was going to put all my games on threaded casters. So I bought like 10 sets of wheels. It was all good until they ripped out of the base of my missile command..

If you really want to use those, I can sell you a few sets. I think I paid like $8 each for them. They are dual wheel and black like the ones below, but threaded.. I think some of them have a bolt to lock them in place.

if forced me to put casters on my games, I would go with something like these.. The wide base will distribute the weight better.
