The selinoid for the casters club on my Fish Tales stopped working. Ran the test thru and every other selinoid fires but the casters club.

All wires seem to be ok. I'm a novice, how do I go about finding out what went wrong?

Added mystery, played the game yesterday and all was fine (everything working well), today when turned on, the game had reset to factory settings. Lost free play (default to money) and free game went from 21M to 100M. Also notice that players walked across the floor and touched the metal, the were shocked (static elect), however every once in awhile it sent the volume of the machine to max!

Really need the selinoid working soon!

help!

Reset to factory settings - need new batteries, be sure battery holder is working good and the pads that hold the battery ends haven't broke off. Be sure you don't have battery corrosion on CPU, it gets the diagnostic stuff ( like volume ) stuff first.

Shock - be sure game is plugged into grounded outlet, and you have a working grounded plug on the game's cord. You can check ground continuity from the games side rails to the ground pin on the plug.

Solenoid - carefully dig around and check the tiny wires coming off the coil to the coil lugs, easy for a break in the tiny wires that is hard to detect. Be sure solder joints on the coil lugs are good too. After that check continuity of wiring from the coil to the power driver board in the head. You could have a break elsewhere.

LTG :)

Thanks LTG,

Had a break in the wire that I didn't notice before. The solder job on the lug was ugly too, so I redid that to save a future headache (or cause another one).

My grounds are all good on the machine. The shocks come from static in the carpet, but it's causing the volume to jump to max. For now, I'm having players ground themselves before they play!

These pinball machines are a pain, I'm ready to add another to my collection!

Anyone have a good XENON in the Greater Cincinnati Area?
