Carpeted Driveways?

They often will roll out the carpet in the driveway and cut it there. It's really fun watching it when you have some scumbag neighbors across the street with their new carpet rolled out in the driveway when it starts pouring rain! :)

I know you're making a joke - but I've seen people carpet their driveway with turf before. It actually looked kinda cool.

Yeah, recently some asshole face carpet guy decided he was going to do it in the street on a back residential road around here and ended up blocking a ton of traffic...me included.

Well the carpet is now in the basement. :)

Repeat pattern is off. :(

I have to either get new carpet or live with it.

Yup. I, too have had my driveway carpeted back in April.....

Bummer! Installers fault? Manufacturers fault?

I'd be pissed ... that stuffs expensive.

Installer is saying carpet guys.

Carpet guys are saying installer.

I am having them finish the job and fight with the carpet guys. I do not see how this carpet can match up. I measured it and it is off from what I see. Sucks because I was ready to set-up games tonight.

Bummer.

The printed pattern looked square on the carpet. Can you google and see instructions for matching the pattern?

Here are links I found:

Dude's a carpet layer.... they ALL have ripped knees...
i did flooring for half a dozen years with the family business but we took pride in our appearance and never wore pants with holes in them. come on, jeans are ten bucks at wal mart. installers make a pretty penny, they can afford a pair of pants from time to time. i always wore knee pads and that helps.

manufacturing defects are uncommon and usually a result of using product from separate rolls, that is, the same pattern but different runs. i have never seen a case of carpet taken from the same roll and the pattern not matching. i have seen alot of hacks cut a crooked seam...

looks like a pretty standard 4' match there. my guess is they had one of the pieces crooked when they cut the seam.
