So I have an old working Carnival cocktail and was wondering if there's any other game PCB that I could play in it. The wife says I should sell it.

I don't think there is anything directly pin compatible with that game. IIRC, the PCB for the cocktail is not the same as the upright. However, it seems like Carnival doesn't show up too often and the cocktail version even less so. You can probably get some decent coin for it and then buy something you are more into.

Not sure what your skill set is, but you could always fabricate an adapter to play some other "one button" games.

I love me some Carnival, though. Cocktail or not, I want one in my collection.

True would be one heck of an adapter haha. I do like this game but I have had it for years. Was a Christmas gift form the family years back. But it's too hard for the wife so she doesn't like it lol.

Oh interesting thanks.

Really, it boils down to strategy. Clear enough of the targets to open up a space to nail the pipes. Get them out of the way, then you can worry about the rest of the targets. Just don't let low numbers of them sit too long, else you wind up with a screen full of bullet loving ducks. :D

Ha hate those damn ducks.

Carnival is a very fun and challenging game once you figure the hidden strategies in it. I have a cocktail and an upright, can't see either one leaving anytime soon:

The cocktails versions are a bit rare. Room is pretty tight inside, I can't really see any other PCB footprints working without a significant amount of work.

BOTH?! Fookin' hoarder!!!

About the cocktail, that's pretty much every cocktail. My Dig Dug is pretty tight on space inside as well.

Did they really use different PCBs? That would seem a bit "odd", to me.

Cocktail and upright use different PCBs.

The cocktail version uses an odd monitor I can't seem to find any info on, but the caps spec out exactly as a Matsushita. the footprint is so compact, there's no room to swap a different type monitor (say K4600) in if this one fails. Should also note, it runs on 100V power - which is why mine kept going into shutdown when I picked it up.
