Just got it in. Going to convert this into MK1 since I already have a MKII and MK3. Already have the marquee, CPO and CP decals.

Why dont you just convert it back to MK4...? MK1 is a different body style.. Will the side art fit on an MK4 body?? Not sure..

Because I absolutely hate MK4. I think the sides are the same sizes but to be 100% sure, that is a question I will have to bring up with zenomorp or ctozzi

LMFAO!! This picture is the greatest thing I have ever seen! The Clown-Chi is hysterical, but the middle finger is what makes it great! I am literally crying over here.

I do think that the differences in the two cabinets might make this being an MK1 a little weird, but seeing how long it took me to find a MK 1 style cabinet, I say go with what you have. Plus having all three MK's in the same style side by side may look nice.

Behind you 100%. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Do you have Rich's graphics for this?

Thanks! Yeah this is all I could find and I do agree with all three MKs with the same cab looking good side by side.
Yup! I do have Rich's website and plan on purchasing the Mk1 sides.
Hope this turns out as good as your MK restoration. I did good on my MK3.

If anything, why not a MK2? Cab is much closer...but killing Clown-Chi would almost be a crime against the hobby. How can you not keep it like that?

Also, how's the monitor? Any issues with brightness and focus drifting?

WOW.

I gotta follow this thread.

Can you still save the side art, is that water-base Paint? Just skin it over the original side art so you'd save it.
I understand you dont like it, & I also fully understand its your cabinet, But man, Im seeing people here killing decent cabs
just to make a MK1.

If I can help in anyway to save that cabinet.
They sell a MK1 template for $40 bucks so you can make one.
Shown here:

Im sure you can sell that cab, & with the profit easily build a MK1 cab that'll look like a real MK1 cab.

I already have a restored MKII. I don't plan on murdering the original sides. Only going to cover them up.
monitor is crap. Really bad screen burn and needs a cap kit.

Giving a clown the finger is bad luck.

LOL

OK, had limited time this weekend to work on the machine but got some stuff done.
I gutted the entire cabinet and cleaned the inside. The wires and JAMMA harness were chopped up pretty badly for the Carnevil game. I have a complete harness from a MKII I'll be putting in.
I put in a new HAPP power supply and a working isolation transformer.

The outside only had a few spots where wood was broken off. Used wood putty to fill in.

Finally I put the art on the control panel. Yes, the original MK4 art is under the new art. I did not and will not destroy anything Mortal Kombat! Even if the 4th game did suck balls lol.

Next I will be repainting the black on the front, top and back.

Clown-Chi is pretty awesome man! Nice looking cab though! I just picked up a MK1 for a $150 completely working. There out there just spam craigslist! Looking good so far though!
