Carnevil: focus issue?

if you end up giving up lmk i have a burn free 7400 tube yoke and frame (Ironically enough also from a carnevil) here begging for a cheap chassis...


Unfortunately i dont think shipping the tube to you would be an option as #1 its heavy, #2 it will probhably break, and #3 i have not seen it work so id hate to see you go through all that and have another bum tube... if you were local id just give ya the thing....

i'm going to attempt a rejuve at FullThrottle's tomorrow. if i end up giving up on this monitor entirely and have the chassis to spare i'll let you know. chances are good it won't be real cheap as i've already got almost $40 worth of parts into it. but it wouldn't be horribly expensive either.

at least you'd know you wouldn't have to do a cap kit or replace the flyback.

thanks to BlindDog, who hauled along his 470 to the party, the monitor now looks pretty darn nice. i still have to take a bit of time to dial all the colors in, but it seems plenty bright. i'll have to play it in the daytime tomorrow at some point to see if it still seems bright enough but i know there was a huge improvement.

now i just have to find space for this thing in the house. R-Type and the AD cocktail both gotta go, i think.

lol. Man I didn't even make the connection at the party when you told me your handle on these forums. I watched you guys rejuv the CRT out of curiosity as I haven't worked with CRTs much. Didn't realize it was you and didn't realize it was the CRT out of the CarnEVIL you were working on. (my mom always told me I was *slow* j/k)

it did. if it lasts until the show in June i'll definitely have it there. last year we were sans any gun games as far as i can remember, and very few video games at all that were anywhere near this new.

There was the one EM shooter but that was it.

I'd be very happy with a better selection of newer games but there are few of us who actually collect them.

i'm going to try to clean up this MKII cabinet for MK in time for the show next year. it may not be an original MK, but at least it'll be better than my cut-corner 19" Dynamo beater cab.
