I just picked up a Carnevil and one side has a busted gun. The housing is cracked on it but the gun works fine.

Did they make just the replacement housing? And any idea if this style gun was used on another game beside Carnevil?

Thanks!!

And while we're at it...can light guns interchange between games? Let say I pick up a couple shot guns from a Big Buck hunter? Will they work in a Carnevil? I would imagine I would at least need to make an adapter to plug the gun in

i have no experience with this but one way to check would be to cross reference the part number in the manuals. there's a possibility it will work tho it depends on the connector/wiring of course.

Those guns were unique to that game as they were designed for it. However I'm not sure about the insides of the guns: if they used the same electronics as the other light game guns of that era or not. I vaguely recall everything being unique about them though.

I believe Happ made those guns for Midway at the time though and I also think they were the ones that ended up with all the parts after Midway quit the coin-op business so there's a chance they may still have parts available.

Carnevil guns are very expensive and hard to find.

If just your outer housing is cracked, I believe a klov'er or two were selling these parts not too long ago...

I was able to use an orange Midway Happ shotgun on Area 51 Site 4. I haven't tested it yet with the original Area 51 yet, so I can't say for certain if the pump action will reload or not on that. I don't have any other gun games to test with.
