got a good carn evil board and hdd off ebay.
Planned on putting it inside my dedicated maximum force cabinet.
All I get is a grey screen with some faint lines.
Some leds on the pcb are read some are green 1 or 2 look yellow.
Hdd spins etc. Tried reseating connections etc.
There are a few plugs from the non jamma part of harness I don't know where to put.... one was plugged into max for header labled jsync, andother jupdn or something like that...

Ideas?

try hooking it up to a standard JAMMA cabinet if you have one handy and see if it boots.

did you get the gun interface board with the setup? i'm not sure that CarnEvil (Midway) is plug-and-play in an Area 51/Max Force (Atari) style cabinet.

Thanks for the links and info guys! Keep em coming!
Thanks
Toby
What's up with the csync from gunboard having to goto monitor?

Pic of the pcb layout is good. Does the security chip, roms, and hd versions all match? I haven't checked carnevil to see if there was more than 1 version. Also, turn off both test dips on the pcb. See if anything changes. Check dip for resolution too.
