I listed some stuff on ebay and feel horrible for doing so. Very dirty (a shower might help). In another post regarding my poor behavior someone bought up CTCW. I have limited knowledge of their model, pricing and whatnot. If I am not very familiar with them as a seller how do they attract buyers? Looking for some intel from anyone that has used the Wagon.

My experience with CTCW:

I've listed 4 cabs I think it is (may have been 3)... I've gotten a total of ZERO bids, ZERO offers, and less than 100 hits on each listing in total.

That said, it's cost me a total of ZERO dollars to use. I just wish it worked. I really really do. I hate ebay.

Plus one million.

I would attribute at least some of this to the economy and your (remote in the middle of nowhere) location...

I'd really love to see him add search result emails. That'd do wonders for item traffic, and allow folks with particular items they are looking for to keep constant tabs on the site even if they forget about it.

I've bought items before on CTCW (ie: an atari system X - 5200 prototype). Rare items will sell anywhere, common, lower cost items are obviously harder, especially on CTCW since their users tend to be fairly die-hard collectors.

CTCW's core user base is more console game oriented, though they are obviously trying to gain some traction in coin-op.

Yeah, I have had zero luck selling anything arcade related there and very few hits. This was before the "economeltdown". I just gave up on it but once it a while I'll list something for kicks just to see it not sell yet again.

I've sold and bought a couple of smaller items. I like the fee structure, but it's got a problem with number of users. It's getting enough traffic to get by (as far as I know), but it's nowhere near the traffic that ebay gets. That means your items get fewer looks, and fewer bids. Especially important in this vein is the fact that it's a specialty site - no one gets to your auction accidentally while searching for something unrelated to the hobby.

I recommend putting stuff up at appropriate prices - don't do the '99 cent listing and they'll bid it up' thing, or you could get stuck selling it for 99 cents.

I find the fees to be reasonable (though I paid for a lifetime sub, so I don't pay anything anymore). I haven't had any trouble on any of my transactions.

It very much has the feel of early E-Bay, before they got insane with the fees and the forced PayPal integration.

I REALLY want them to implement e-mail searches. I hadn't realized it until someone else said it, but I really want it now (I note that I've got about a dozen e-mail searches running on ebay). Or, at the very least, a way to bookmark or save searches to come back to later. That would greatly improve my ability to keep an eye on things there.

Overall, I like CTCW, and I hope it keeps going. I keep looking, but I don't have much to sell right now, and I haven't seen anything I needed to buy recently.

I'm going to give it another shot - listing a working Missile Command board on CTCW tonight.

I agree - that feature would at least get my foot in the door with the site.

Coming in a near future upgrade. This and also a USA Map showing arcade games for sale by state and county. It's coming, I swear :)

Also,

To see what arcade items have sold simply goto advanced search, click on list by item - Arcade PCB's for example. Then search by recently closed. You will see alot of things have sold for the Buy Now Price. And we had a Timber Arcade sell the past month too.

Stuff sells. Considering the very small % of arcade game items actually run, the selling % is not that bad.

I think some of your items have also been listed on Ebay too with no results. Is that correct? And for lots of you, do you find yourself relisting your arcade game multiple times on Ebay before they sell? I would think that many times the answer is yes.

Incorrect... I've never sold a cab on ebay or even attempted to sell one on ebay (yet)...

My apologies. I thought I saw your Scramble up on there.

As a another side note --

Check out these listings on Ebay that are going to be ending soon:

http://collectibles.shop.ebay.com/V...ollectibles&_mspp=&_pcats=20269,13715,66502,1

Most (the Buy Now's especially) will fall off unsuccessfully and get relisted. Happens every day. Ebay really makes a killing on all the listing and relisting fees.
