Customer complaint: Vertical collapse
Patient: Hantarex Polo 25"
Previous work was a FB and cap kit. Inspected the board and found several caps with legs still attached or they were cut too long and caps were not flush. Fixed it and reflowed every cap. Next I found the power connector was not secured so I fixed it and reflowed several of the vertical mounted ceramics. Next I inspected the remote board. Found a missing pot and two pots were the wrong value and one was not even soldered in. So I replaced them. Powered the unit on and tested the b+. B+ was a little high so I adjusted it. I noticed on startup I had no HV but good B+ now. So I inspected the board again around the FB since I had no HV on start up. I found several cracked traces. Apparently whoever installed the FB had cracked the traces trying to get one in. Fixed the traces and now I get HV and a great image. Every Polo I've ever worked on had cracked traces.
