Patient: K7000 P538
Symptoms: originally the B+ read 150 to 160 V, HV shut down. Performed the light bulb test and got close to 130 volts. So the issue is on the horizontal side. After visual inspection, I noticed that the jumper that's below the yoke connector was partially removed. So one leg of the HOT was not reaching c36. I made a new jumper and the monitor came on but it had this strange horizontal tear and no red. More about that in a minute. I left it running for about five minutes and it shut down, but it wasn't HV shut down. It was like I just turned off the switch. I tested the HOT and it was shorted. I also tested C 38 and it was shorted. However, the fuse never blew. After replacing the HOT and C 38 The unit stayed on but I still have the strange horizontal tear. I also noticed that the horizontal positioning potentiometer wasn't working. After a closer inspection, it was broken after replacing it the tear went away.

After looking over the neck board, there was one small lifted trace on the red transistor. I Fixed the trace and now we have red.
