Captains Auction WIN TROG, Serial #74 for the record

Had a great time at Captain's yesterday and saw a few of you guys. It's always great to catch up! I ended up leaving around 2 and kept tabs on the auction at home via Bidspotter. Trog FINALLY came up for auction around 11 PM and I ended up winning by bidding on line for $450.

I am real happy with that price and picked it up this morning. Trog is now safe and sound in my garcade. It is serial #74 for anyone keeping track. It has 2600 plays and earned a whopping $650. It is pristine inside and out. Definite dry and clean storage. Inside is shiny and boards all look new! It would be nice to know how many of these were made.

Anyone have a higher serial # than 74?

For those that didn't go, there was a decent but still small selection of "classics". A very nice dedicated Two Tigers went for $300. Anyone here snag that?

I was bidding on the Trog but stopped at $375. I wasn't going to pay almost $600 for one, even though it was in nice shape, all original, and played well. Good to know it went to a socal collector (and will go to another one soon lol).

I got the Rampage, Two Tigers, a nice Tetris, and other rare-ish culty stuff like Side Arms, Zombie Raid, Cowboys of Moo Mesa, Alien 3, and Double Axle.

The Gauntlet 2 went for a lot but was really nice, the APB went for a lot and was also nice and had the seat, and the Dr. Mario went for A THOUSAND DOLLARS and the dude started high five-ing people after he won it

Sweet scores on your end for sure. Thanks for relinquishing the Trog. Were you on site still or were you also bidding from home? Great score on that TT. I was going to go for that as well, but only have room for one so waited for the Trog. I also wouldn't have minded picking up the Rockola Eyes CT or Bosconian CT but passed on them to wait for Trog, too.

Ya, I couldn't believe that Dr. Mario pulled in a grand. What is up with that?

I was watching the auction and was going to bid if the trog was going to be given away.. Nice pickup!

Make sure you check the wood monitor mounts. They can easily unglue and the monitor can fall in the cabinet.. That what was wrong with mine. Put some L iron in to support it.. Its a big problem with trog and smash tv.

Hopefully someone saves the other one that was converted to x-men.. I was tempted as I have spare boards...

I got there at 10:30am and left after the final game was auctioned at almost 1am....it was a long day. I don't like bidding online because they charge you a higher fee, and because games stop working or show problems sometimes right before the bidding starts which online people can't see. But it's a nice option if you can't sacrifice an entire day hanging around.

congrats on the trog bro!

i think avidgeek (damon) is a big fan of this game. i remember him bringing his to sc3 one year.

great multi player game fo sho!

Nice pick up, Mike (serial noted!). Looks really nice! Looks like a beast of a monitor, too. Looks like 27" if not 33".

Here's the Rampage I picked up. Hadn't seen one for sale in SoCal since I started buying, so this was #1 on my list at the auction. It cleaned up real nice.

Thanks,

I am going to have to have another small get together this spring. Love to have a go with 4P. Although Tricia and I have been playing the crap out of it. FUN!

Trog is really fun. Used to play it alot at the mall arcade with my brother. I've got a PCB, and it's JAMMA, but no horizontal JAMMA cab to put it in.

Gauntlet II

I got that Gauntlet at the last auction and I did overpay a little @ 650. Theres another one there tomorrow but it doesnt have the atari joysticks. Saw some listed here today i think..
