What was this?

Whatever it was, it's Pac-Man now. (And probably has been since 1981...)

Centipede (strange Centipede):

Mr. Do!

Special Duel by Sega. Tiny, very cool looking, and in pretty good cosmetic shape. Had a "deep scan" and "invinco" dial for gameplay by the coin mechs; pretty unique...

Kangaroo (well, now anyway):

Lots of well warn and rough games we've seen at auction after auction selling but magically reappearing at the next same location auction.
I believe the last picture sums up the auction fairly well...

Doesn't look like great pickings there. I have only been to one auction, it was Des Moines, IA sometime in '03. My dead row Dig Dug came from there, got it as a Christmas present from my boss. It needed both monitor and board repairs but it worked great and served me well for 6 years. I was at the auction for work but it was a lot fun just to play the games and see what was there. I sure would like to go to one again.

If I had decent classic games to sell I wouldn't take them to an auction. People just aren't going to pay a whole lot for them in that kind of environment. And is it worth even having an auction where the games are going for next to nothing?

These Captain's Warehouse auctions have evolved into a crowd of small time and mid sized operators who are buying the newer equipment for route service. That Aliens Extermination went for a good price, I think it was $2500. The F Zero machine went for around $500 and it was in really good shape.

Those 2049s and Arctic Thunders were cool, but you had to buy the entire row and there were no boards inside. If they were selling just one I would have considered it, and then tried to find the parts.

Overall, it was worth checking out. I took my kid to Tangled down the street (there is a discount theater about a mile away).

Well, it's not Pac-Man, but a New Puck bootleg (note the ghost names are the Japanese names, and it says "NEWPUCK" at the bottom.) What does the maze look like in attract mode?
