hi all. im in the process of restoring my 1977 Bally Captain Fantastic one piece at a time. This machine plays and works like it is new. everything about it is nice.....BUT the cabinet. it has had termite damage in the past (there long gone and dead but there handy work remains.) i guess its possible to use wood hardener then bondo like the arcade cabinets that are repaired but honestly im thinking it would be easier to just find a donor cabinet and swap everything over. NOW my question is this. what cabibnets would work for my swap. the odds of finding a empyt Captain cab are slim and honestly i dont care as i plan on re stenciling the cab anyways so graphics are not a concern. any ideas? are William cabinets from that time frame the same? let me know what you guys think thanks all!

Hi all, I just stuck a deal and paid for a replacement original Captain Fantastic cabinet and backbox for $75.00 im stoked!! it looks to be in wonderful condition but before any of my parts get transfered over the whole cabinet will get fully restored and re stenciled. thanks to all who read my post!

Oh i will. Ive already started repairing a few rails that had some terminte damage and they look great. luckly the playfield was NOT touched by them. I got REALLY lucky and posted a wanted on on PINSIDE and withing a hour a really cool guy replaied that he not only had a bally cabinet and backboard but it was a captain fantastic at that....all for just $75.00!! I couldnt build one for that! I already have a LOT of before pictures but im waiting to start my reso thread till the replacement cabinet gets here. OHHH then the fun will start!
