Went to this auction today in So Cal under sunny skies.
Saw a few KLOV'rs but it looked to be mostly arcade operators.
I think there were maybe 125 pieces for sale, maybe a little more.
There was a row of classics - 2 non working Star Wars, a complete Solar Quest in what appeared to be excellent shape but non-working, non working tempest, non working centipede and non working space duel, non working star castle, non working Pole Position II cockpit. And a Gun Fight that was working intermittently. I did not stay for these games so I don't know what they sold for.
Newer games included a sit down Daytona 2 that went for $650, ridge racer V for $450 and a Beachhead 2000 that I think went for $800. They had some gun games - some deer hunting games, and there were two non-working JP Lost Worlds. There was also a gigantic Konami Jurassic Park III projection shooting game that was non-working. That has got to be one of the biggest video games I have ever seen.
They had a gigantic 1972 slot machine, and a smaller quarter machine from what looked to be the 1980s. There were about 12 Golden Tee 2005 machines, but I did not see any of them working. There were maybe 15 pinballs, with some decent titles including a Spiderman and POTC. There was a project Star Wars Episode 1 and an Invasion From Mars. I left when these were being sold.
Overall prices were higher than at previous auctions with exception of the Speed Racer for $75 that Gene at Vintage Arcade bought. God that game sucks.
There was a very annoying guy with a laptop who was apparently using the built in camera to record the auction for the owner. A fellow Klov'r let him use his power cord when he battery was going dead.
Overall, it was better than the last Superauctions auction, but I don't think anyone missed much. Back to Craigslist....
