Caprice shuffle bowler

I pulled out my paperwork last night. I have more than I remembered. Here is the coil list from the schematic. The parts manual doesn't have a specific coil page and not a lot of info on the relays. More steppers, switches and such. I also have a 2 page service hints pamphlet.

There is a 2 3/4 ($16) and a 2 7/8 ($21.60). They say if the pins are 10 1/4 to use the jumbo puck. I definitely want the larger diameter. I see the factory coil is L-27-450 for what they call the pin unit. I will order the puck, a couple coils and 4 of the wire rollovers from PBR. Thanks again for all your help.

No problem. I don't know the game well, but I have all the documentation and can take pics of anything you need. Once you get it working, it just works. I haven't touched mine in 2 years and I play it almost every weekend for a few games.

I see PBR is out of stock. You may want to give Steve a call and see if he can offer a substitute.

PBR is out of stock.
Marco is out of stock.
Pinball Paradise is out of stock.

It's a conspiracy I tell you.

I just ordered some coils from PBR for a game I'm working on.. They sent me some substitutes for the ones I needed. They may at least be able to offer a substitute. Otherwise, I'd post on the other pinball forum. Someone there should have something for you..

Thanks. I have come up empty with every company I contacted. Gonna try to find individual sources.

Machine has started jumping frames intermittently. I need to clean all the steppers. What is the least painful way to go about it. I ordered the T.O.P. dvd a good while back and now I can't find it.

Lots and lots of cash to pay someone else to do it.

Or lots of pictures and a good memory. There is no easy!

The least painful way to clean all those steppers is beer, music, toothbrush, rubbing alcohol, pbr grease, good lighting and then get it in your head that you will only have to do this once. I would probably start with the frame unit if you are just working on fixing the issue. If you are going to do all the steppers, start in one spot and just do one at a time.

I definitely have 🍺 and music. I do not find anything labeled as frame unit . The top 7 are coin unit ( on left) and player 1-6. Below them are score motor, flash motor,10 th frame unit and last on right is game selector unit. My schematic shows a frame unit step up (J-22-500)coil and (H-26-650) reset coil . I haven't located them either. I am thinking the frame unit is included with the score motor unit since the C-5 switch contacts are listed as frame unit s.u. on the score unit. I'm thinking the step up coil contacts bouncing could cause my issue if I could locate the coil. Any insight will be appreciated.20240929_190455.jpg20240929_184028.jpg20240929_184954.jpg

UPDATE. I found the frame unit. Never looked close enough between the score reels to notice it up there, too busy looking on the door. Once I found it seemed like the nuts holding it together probably would negatively effect functionality having gotten loose and a couple falling off. Put 2 nuts on both sides of each stud and tightened. Guess what I found the least painful way to clean the frame unit. Don't gotta - machine is working right until the next thing. Thanks for the help.

Excellent.. It doesn't take much, but loose boards will definitely cause chaos.. Glad you got it. I can't even get to my machine right now unfortunately. I had to do some temporary rearranging in my garage and its been 6 months or so I haven't gotten back to it.
