I have the opportunity to pick up a Chicago Coins Caprice Shuffle Bowling machine in very nice condition for $600. The problem is that I cannot find any information on this particular model at all other than some brocures for sale for it online. Does anybody know if this is a decent playing machine ?
For a mechanical one is it fairly reliable ? or is it one of those older ones that is a real trouble to keep in working order ? I appreciate any and all help.. Thanks !!

Hey Mojojo,

I have a 76' STAR SAPPHIRE bowler from Williams and we LOVE! this thing. If you don't know they are HEAVY!!! My wife and I got it 1/2 way upsatirs and WOW! it got heavy. They are great as far as reliability as with all EM machines the more you play the better it is for the game. If the machine in the pix is the one you want it looks GREAT! They are repoping the pins at MARCO specialties and E-BAY has them. Make sure you get the Chicago Coin pins because they are not interchangable. We played the old shufflebowlers at a pub in Buffalo, NY as a kid and I had a chance to get one on E-BAY 3 years ago for $80.00 and jumped on it. The easiest way to fix one of these machines is to play it to see what does or dosen't happen. The one I got the 10's reel never rolled over so the game never ended/reset. I found 1 wire un-soldered from the 10's coil, I re-attached it and the machine has worked 100% since. If you can figure out what is wrong you have a great place to start. The manuals are on line you just need to search everywere.

I love playing ours (I may bowl a game after this!) and feel it was one of the best deals I have done. Hope this helps and good luck with the game!

John

P.S. post back any specific ?'s you might have Have a great weekend!

Thanks

I appreciate the help - I know these are fun machines and htat is why i am thinking of getting it - my main concern is that I have not seen it working so just making sure that if I have to do any repairs that parts are still available and that I am not just throwing more money into something that I already paid too much for...... If it turns out that this is a rare machine and worth a lot more than I wouldn't mind putting a little into it...

My experience with any EM is the more they work, the more they are worth.
If the shuffle alley is working, as "QMAN97" eluded to about EM's, you will probably be alright.
If it's stone dead,......could be tough. Sometimes they don't come back.

Ive got a similar CC shuffle, same vintage. If you get it, and need a pic or something, I'll try to help you out.

I didn't recognize all of the games it featured on its marque, but I did notice in the flyer it had "dual-flash". That is a fun game. Sometimes a spare is worth more than your competitors strike, if their timing's off.
