Hey all, I have two Nanao 26 inch monitors in my daytona usa machines side by side. One is perfect, and the other, while very good, clearly is more greenish. All the adjusting in the world isn't fixing it. Everything about the monitor is awesome but this... So my question is: how do I know which caps do just the colors? I know, you're going to say do them all, but I would feel a lot more comfortable doing the colors first. The monitor is fantastic beyond this.

Oh shit, can a mod move this to the monitor section please? This is what I get for posting on my stupid cell phone! lol

It's possible that a complete rebuild and even rejuvenation won't get both tubes exactly perfect. I have a Cyberball with the exact same monitor on both sides, both have been rebuilt and rejuved, and one looks slightly brighter than the other.

It is the tube in my case, as swapping chassis' has no effect. The one is still brighter than the other.

If you haven't recapped these yet, I'd start there. It's possible that at some point the caps have dried out. If one sat closer to a window (where sunlight might heat it up) or had caps from an older batch, the caps on one might be worse than the other. It's also possible for a pot on one to be bad, or a drive transistor, or weaker +12 on one, etc, etc....

Well, this one is just like the other, and if I add a bit too much blue , they look close. If i adjust the bright up, however, you can see things start to look greener. Maybe a transistor?

try desoldering the Green color transistor out. if the greenish tint persists, then it's a problem with your tube. (meaning the green gun is shorted and driving higher than the other 2 for no apparent reason :)) -- if you no longer have a greenish tint, you could try swapping that Green transistor with the Red or Blue ones and see if the problem carries over to deduce that it is in fact the transistor.

another thing to try is to dial all your RGB pots down, then keep bringing the red and blue up until you get a pure white. though this could very well make it look significantly different than your other monitor, mod's right, you'll never get them perfect in most cases. on my Daytona twin, for instance, no matter how much I messed with the player 2 monitor, it still has a very slight bluish tint (only highly noticeable on the white DAYTONA USA screen)
