I received 2 of these amps in a lot I recently purchased. They are just the amp (not the power source transformer). They are clean and complete but I have no way to test (but it looks like these are quite repairable if needed, they seem to be off the shelf components).

I have no idea if these are in demand or what they're worth, so feel free to MMAO. ***SOLD!***

Things I'm looking for / trade bait:

TMM2018 or equivalent RAMs
A Neo-Geo AES joystick (spare for my JAMMA test rig)
Pacman sync bus controllers / video ram addresser boards
NBA Jam sound board power cables / volume pots / data cables
NOS 74LS series TTLs (common ones used on most boards)
If you absolutely MUST offer, cash :)

Without the transformer the amp runs on less than ideal voltage. It will still work, but it could pick up atmospheric noise such as fans or cd drives.

IIRC, there are two versions of the amp.

I'm not so sure about that. I compared an Impress amp with a Q-25 amp with a Big Blue Q-Sound cab amp and all of them had the same model #. The Impress is the only one that uses the amp without a transformer which is less than ideal. Don't get me wrong, it still works fine for the most part.

Naw, the Part # on the two Q-Sound boards are the same.

IIRC, CAPCOM changed some power parts on one of the two baords.

Not exactly sure why--different part order, audio humm, low voltage boad--but one of the amps no logner has a coil. Anyway, I think they ended up with two Q-Sound Power blocks or something: one 13w & one 12w, or something. And one works fine with 12w but not the other.

ehh, just a tech log I read somewhere.

is there info on this?
i just barely learned of these amps. my cab has a single speaker
for mono, but i do have cps2 games.

where do these amps plug into? special speakers or any speakers?

thanks

I forget what ohm speakers you need, but as long as you can get the right connector and the right resistance speakers you should be fine.

You also don't NEED a q-sound specific amp. You could for example use a naomi sound amp which also takes in stereo sound.
