1. It's a good game.

2. It was a ubiquitous game back in the day.

3. The dedicated cabinets are the bomb and, in my opinion, should be prized.

I liked the game and a fun one to play with friends involved, don't think I'd persue one for the home though.

I had one and loved it for the first year. I had the Coors Light Roms. Then I got crazy and wanted the Bowl O Rama board set. Got it, installed it, folks loved it. Then I picked up a World Class Bowling Deluxe PCB and ditched the whole Capcom Bowling set-up I had. Truth be told, I miss the simplicity and the top down down view. WCB is still a superior game, but Capcom Bowling is fun.

Here was mine, I picked it up 4 years ago for $149:

I always liked Capcom Bowling. I never saw a dedicated back in the day, but I learned to prefer the Midway Pacman style conversion cabs because you could get greater "follow through" on the trakball. Taito, Rock-Ola, and Universal cabs were excellent for Capcom Bowling as well.

Not to mention any conversion cabinet with different angles between the bezel and the control panel (Centipede, Frogger, Tutankham, Donkey Kong, etc.) would result in many fingertips smashed into the bezel.

Same thing happens for Big Event Golf, and US Classic Golf, and other trakball games.

Kyle

I think everybody has owned at least one(or parts to one), I CURRENTLY have 2 and have turned 2 more down in the last month. It's my opinion that it must have been one of the most produced video games out there. I do like it, game play is basic, but fun. Would like to get the Coors bowling version just to see the difference.

I've had mine for quite a while and really enjoy it. It seems to get quite a bit of play during parties.

That's a dedicated one.

It's really cool that the cabinet is made to look like lane wood. :D

I'm building a very cool, very custom, very secret cabinet for my Capcom Bowling... I'll start a thread once it's done. Just before I use it to take over the world...

I actually have been considering one of these. There is something about it that I kind of like. Actually, I don't even think I played it ever but I kind of like the look of the logo and such. :)

I absolutely want the IT bowling game with a JAMMA switcher and Goldentee. That would ROCK. Totally jealous, Phety.

There was one in the laundromat I worked in when I was a teenager. I kept trying to get a perfect game. The closest I ever got was 270-something.

It isn't a machine that I'd be interested in owning.

I would like one of these machines, I love any golf/bowling game, especially when they are the older ones like these and not the usual IT machines.

I pulled mine out of a basement in Evanston IL, thanks to the long gone taito-vox kids. The story was that the former game owner was a vip at the manufacturer that makes the cabs, still makes the IT cabs now as far as I know.

Anyone have serial numbers in their dedicated machines. Mine is handwritten BP-250 if I recall correctly. I'd love to compare.

Great game! I too have a dedicated cab that I picked up at a Super Auctions for one dollar! It was missing the boards and power supply but everything else was there. Someone tried to knee my poor cab into submission by the coin door. :( I could also use a new CPO if they are ever repro'd. At one point I had a few email conversations with someone who was looking at doing a run of the cpo's, but that seems to have fallen through. I like the marble pattern on the large trackball, but I have to say I had a bitch of a time getting the old bearings out of their housing. Here's a pic from when I first brought it home from the auction.
