Just completed a repair of a Capcom Bionic Commando pcb. I bought this off fleabay sold as "tested, working". Once I got it and plugged into my test bench, it wouldn't boot.
Self test came up work ram ok, vram ok, scroll1 bad and halted right there.
I had no idea which ram was responsible for scroll1. I started piggybacking ram until I got to a TMM2063P-15 at 4E on the bottom video pcb. This made the board boot past the self test. Removed, socketed, and replaced with a CY7C185-25PC 8K x 8 sram.

Now that the board boots, I noticed that all the foreground motion sprites had horizontal lines through them.

I figured another ram was bad. Luckily the first ram I piggybacked was the culprit, a TMM2015BP-15 at 10B on the video pcb. Replaced with a 6116 slim ram, and sprites are good now.
