Capcom airborne huo for 11 years! Can bring to york!
I'm putting up for sale my 1996 Capcom Airborne pinball machine. I bought this machine about 1 year ago from a private seller. The game was in amazing shape, both cosmetically and mechanically, and known to be HUO for 11 years...it worked perfectly. When I got it home and played it for a few days, a few components on the display controller board went out. I had too many projects and didn't know much about pinball machines at the time so I sent the entire board set out for diagnosis/repair. When the display controller board went out the game still turned on but I didn't play it when that familiar burning smell happened (the components were burning out on the display controller board). Unfortunately when I sent all the boards out to be repaired I did not receive all of them back. The game is currently missing the audio board, switch board, and driver board. The display controller board was not repaired. The rest of the boards look very clean on both sides with no hacks or bad solder joints. The wiring all looks very good and inside the backbox just looks great. I documented, with pictures, how I disassembled the boards and I would be more than happy to send them to you if you'd like. I also have all the hardware labeled in ziploc bags so you know how and where to put the boards when putting them back in. Also included is the original manual and wiring diagrams.
Pinball hobbyists know how fun and rare this game is...only about 1,100 units were produced. The ramps & rails in this game are amazing and so is the air show theme. The top has a push bumper that looks like the back of a fighter jet; the air traffic tower is really cool too. I'm simply looking to part with this machine right now, even though it's an awesome game in amazing cosmetic shape. The playfield is very clean with no noticeable wear marks. The cabinet is near perfect with a couple of paint touch-ups near the flipper buttons. Legs are decent as well as the crash bar. Glass is pretty nice with a small scratch. The 3 drop targets on the right side of the playfield get hung up but is an easy job to replace. The translite has a few bubble marks but no big deal. Collectors online have valued this game in HUO working order between $2500-3000. I feel that what I'm asking is a good price for someone looking to resurrect it and have in their collection. You're welcome to search the RGP boards and KLOV website under Airborne or ArcadeGarage for posts about this machine (from both myself when mine went down and other members discussing fixes and values).
I am going to the York Pinball Show this weekend and would be happy to bring it up if you want. It's already packed up to be loaded. Of course, you can certainly look it over before you purchase. You can see more photos here on my Flickr photo album (there are 20 in total - just keep hitting the right arrow to scroll through):

Thanks for looking...I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Item sold as-is for obvious reasons...I hope one of you gets it up & running in a good home. Take care,
Joe
