Ok, so my understanding is that as long as you dont replace a cap with a lower voltage, you can use any voltage? (as long as the uf is the same) i replaced a 100v cap with a 200v one and a 100v with a 160v with no ill effects so far, is that kosher?

I've been told that as long as it physically fits and is the same type then this is fine.

I'm not Jewish, but you're ok...

itll work.. if your tslking new lcd monitors you gotta make sure the replacment is super low esr as well but for what we do you're fine..

The voltage is the maximum voltage the capacitor can handle before it starts to fail, so yes you can put in caps with higher voltage ratings.
