So I've got this chassis that I can't get to fully work, a CGM-2500.
I've done a cap kit on it, and it comes up but still with funny colors, and the H hold still doesn't stick quite right.
I'm trying to come up with some other reasons why it's not working.
I've checked all the caps I did, no bridges or anything. They are all in with correct polarity.
I was looking at the giant cap by the AC, and it seems a bit bulgy to me. Top is curved, and a touch squishy. I thinking its bad, so I wanna replace it.
It's a 680uf 200WV cap. Here's my question. What is WV?
I can buy a 680uf 200V cap, but I don't see any references to a WV cap.
What's worse is that the only schematic for this thing isn't the greatest looking scan you've ever seen, and there's a smudge right near the V on the schematic, so it makes me doubt what I need to find/buy.
Anyone know what I can replace this cap with? And any other possible replacements I should make. I've got another thread (just search for cgm-2500) and there's a link to a video about how the monitor looks in there. Once I replace this cap, and it's still messed up, I guess I need to try to replace the IC's on the chassis board.
